The purpose of our initial visit is to get to know our patient. Everyone presents to the practice with different needs and concerns. It is important to establish a baseline to begin our assessment of your needs. The following are standards we collect to establish our baseline:
- Charting of Existing Restoration
- Periodontal Charting and Pocket Deppth Recording
- Intra and Extra Oral Soft Tissue Examination
- Temporomandibular Joint and System Evaluation
- Occlusal Evaluation
- Full Mouth Imaging
The purpose of gathering records is to assist our patients in their starting position in our practice. Every patient receives a quality visit from the Doctor. Some visits are shorter than others. There are patients that require much more extensive evaluation of their needs. Those patients will be rescheduled with Dr. Huppert for an extensive evaluation which may include the following:
- Full Photographic Survey
- Impressions for Diagnostic Models
- Facebow Transfer and Bite Records
Follow-Up Appointments
Our mission is to report our findings to the patient so that discussions can be entertained regarding issues and possibilities. Treatment planning is not done at these appointments. Our office does not “sell” dentistry. The patients are presented with the facts. Discussions occur and possibilities for rectifying issues are presented to the patient. The patient then decides which direction they would like to proceed.
We recognize that it is our privilege to treat each and every patient. Our office is not a high-volume office. Each patient is given the necessary time to be heard. We follow a “Spear” oriented philosophy of comprehensive dental care. Again, our training includes extensive work in diagnostic, restorative, and surgical care. It is not the “normal” office offering “Filling and Crowns”. We offer the EXCEPTIONAL experience.
